1. Government looks to eradicate child labor by 2020

Representatives from the Labor Ministry, the ILO(International Labor Organization) and the Telefónica Foundation discussed how to eradicate child labor in the country in June 12. Minor employees between the ages of 5 and 17 amount to 47,400 and about 41,000 have jobs that are illegal. This is the lowest number in Central America, but government wants those eradicated.

Before I read this article, I thought children worker was disappeared in the twenty-first century. So effort of government of Costa Rica is great. Because childhood is period of growth. If they work hard (physically hard), can't growth well. Another reason is they should be in school, instead of lab, enjoying their childhood and forging a better future. Final reason is children workers can't receive a whole salary.

2. In a first, gay Australian woman receives residency for realationship with Costa Rican

Immigration authorities of Costa Rica granted residency to foreigner woman based upon her long-term relationship with a Costa Rican woman for the first time. Chairman of Costa Rica's Diversity Movement said this decision is important step to change people's prejudices to same-sex couples.
This decision has similar signification to PCUSA's redetermination of meaning of wedding. I think Human's love is so various; different-sex love, same-sex love. Same-sex love isn't disease or strange love than different-sex love. So we must respect their love. Finally, this decision will be first step of acknowledgment to same-sex couple.

3. Mysterious Costa Rican spheres become an official world heritage site

Mysterious stone spheres in the delta of river Diquís joined the list of sites declared as World Heritage by the UNESCO. UNESCO said it lies in the perfection of its forms, their number, size and density, and the fact that are in their primitive sites as reason to appoint World Heritage site.

Look at that picture! Those spheres are so BIG. Actually, this appointment is so late. (Just my thought) When first discovery, finder exploded those spheres to find gold. So some spheres were exploded or damaged. In addition that, some spheres became weathered by wind and rain. Anyway, those spheres are very important ruins to prove existence of complex social and economic civilizations from the period between 500 and 1500 AD, so Costa Rican and UNESCO should preserve for good.

4. Costa Rica angry with FIFA for drug-testing seven players after Italy

FIFA ordered seven Costa Rican players to undergo drug tests after winning over Italy. So players, many Costa Ricans, Costa Rican Football Federation and Diego Maradona are furious because of that order. FIFA said this order is necessary because some players didn't undergo the mandatory pre-tournament tests. Meanwhile, Costa Rica advance to the last 16 as the group winners.

FIFA's this order is so unfair. Drug tests, sure, is necessary to fair play. But timing of order is so bad. It looks like Italy's revenge. FIFA should maintain neutrality. Of course, Costa Rica players showed amazing play against strong country. But that result is wholly thanks to their team's effort. So we should congratulate their advance, NOT doubt.
